Meet “Matteo” himself.
Matthew Myers‘ vision for a greenhouse with an international flair came to life as he traveled through Germany, Italy and France over the past 10 years. During his time abroad, he was exposed to many different genres of food and uses for fresh herbs most have never experienced or enjoyed. Upon returning from Europe in 2008 he opened his first greenhouse in Jeannette, PA but chose to close its doors to move back to his hometown to take care of his 99 year-old grandmother, Bessie. Grandma and Matthew were best buds, and after her passing, his aspiration to delve into the world of plants and herbs once again resurfaced and he couldn’t rest until he found a place to combine his passion for the greenhouse business with his desire to be near his family. Matthew is extremely excited about the beginning of his 3rd season of Matteo’s Herbs Galore in his hometown of Johnstown, PA. He loves to entertain the customers by whipping up splendid dishes with the herbs grown on site. If you come at the right time, you might just enjoy a meal. :)
