Meet “Matteo” himself.
Matthew Myers’ vision for a greenhouse with an international flair came to life as he traveled through Germany, Italy, France and Vietnam. While vacationing abroad, he was exposed to many different styles of cooking and uses for fresh herbs most have never been experienced or enjoyed. Upon returning from a trip to Europe in 2008, he opened his first greenhouse in Jeannette, PA, but chose to close its doors to move back to his hometown to help take care of his 99-year-old grandmother, Bessie. Grandma and Matthew were best buds, and after her passing, his aspiration to delve into the world of plants and herbs once again resurfaced, and he couldn’t rest until he found a place to combine his passion for the greenhouse business with his desire to be near his family. Matthew is extremely excited about the beginning of his 5th season of Matteo’s Herbs Galore in his hometown of Johnstown, PA. He loves to entertain the customers by whipping up splendid dishes with the herbs grown on site. If you come at the right time, you might just enjoy a sample of his delicious cooking.
